Moved to a new ski school this year. I've been mostly teaching adults for years so an assignment at the new school to take on a group of 5 year olds for six weeks had me scratching my head for a while. Negotiating goals, justifying the logic of a series of excersizes, none of these things fly with 5 year olds. Anyway, I took some video on the last day, asking them to show me their best 'tricks'. Here they are, stepping through turns, hopping through turns, skiing backward, spinning around, skiing on one ski, and stuff like that. OK, maybe these moves wouldn't pass an exam, but the intent and the skills are (mostly getting) there. I am pretty flipping pleased.
