Binding Question for 98 ski

Hi,

I am sure that I am not the first to ask, and I think I know the answer, but here it goes:

I am on the market for 98 size ski (either Bones or Hell & Back) and here comes the question for the binding.

Binding in questions are:

Marker Griffon

Look PX 12

Salomon STH 12

Local Ski shop suggested that I would go with Griffons; however, Market makes only 2 sizes: 90 and 110, which means if I will go with 110, I would have 6 mm on each size of the ski (not sure if that is bad or just not recommended).

My question is: Could I bend 90 size brakes to feet 98 size ski, is it safe or recommended or if someone did it before, or this is just a stupid idea which I should not even think about?

Thank you,

Oleg

Oleg. Although you can bend the 90mm brakes to fit, the 110mm brakes are the better choice. Remember that most racers use a 78mm brake on their 66mm skis. The same 12mm difference.

If you don't want to bend the breaks go with STH 12 Driver. It's a solid binding and has 100mm breaks that would be a really close fit to the skis.

I'm not sure if I would go that close. I have the Marker 110mm brake on my 108's and it's too close, I'm going to bend mine out a bit.

Thank you all,

I think I am pretty much convinced that going with 110 should be a good idea, and I will do so.

Not sure that I am PRO in bindings and their advantage one over another, by saying "driver toe version" did you mean http://www.salomon.com/us/product/sth12-driver.html ?

thank you,
