Spring Break crowds in Utah?

Thread Starter

Planning another drive up to Cottonwoods in March.  How are spring break crowds?  When do they die down?

My options are March 10 - 12, 17- 19, or 24- 26

I'm not all that aware of spring break crowds being much of a thing here. March never seemed more crowded than any other time of year. I wouldn't worry about it in terms of your dates.

Late March tends to go off in terms of snow, though.

Since spring break is spread over a number of weeks, it doesn't have the same impact as MLK, Pres. Day weekends, or Christmas/New Years.  Easter Sunday is March 31, so a number of schools have the last week of March as spring break.

Not to hijack this thread, but I'm trying to squeeze one final ski trip in on March 15,16,17,18.  Flights are essentially the same to SLC and Denver.  If I went to SLC I'd probably stay in Midvale and hit up LCC/BCC.  On the other hand, I'd probably head to the Boat if I go to Denver.  How would the crowds compare between Steamboat and Utah that weekend?

Neither UT (particularly BCC and others) or Steamboat are known for being especially crowded. I'd feel pretty confident booking either one.

We went to LCC/BCC March 20-22 last year. It was very quiet. Enjoy!!

Head up to Snowbasin or Powder Mountain and you won't see a lift line.

Steamboat's main exposure is SW, which means heavy spring conditions in late March unless it's dumping while you're there.
