People in SoCal can't drive in the rain, let alone snow.
As for Easterners, there's been less and less to practice with, so drivers are worse. We're starting to get equality?
The worst thing is "All Season" tires - esp on 4 wheel drive cars. People think they can go anywhere in ther X Beemer or Audi with fat performance tires.
As for Blizzards, I can recall going to Stapleton Airport in Denver in one from Boulder. The road was littered with cars.
What city can cope with 30" of snow in 24 hrs? There's no where to put it. Parking is a nightmare if you park on the street you've got to dig the car out, then someone takes your spot and you start over. The shovled snow ends up in the street...
The snow never really made it to the VT ski areas. Maybe 10" tops, and the wind took some areas down to negative.
