I have followed various threads on leg length difference and the need tor balancing ski fitting to compensate for this and so I have posted my thoughts on the subject. I'd be happy to hear feedback.
Whilst leg length difference can be because of an actually anatomical difference in the length of either the femur or tibia ( and this can often be as a result of a fracture)., most often, leg length difference is a a result of imbalance of the pelvis and in particular involves the sacro-illiac joints. Before resorting to heel lifts. it is recommended that a full postural evaluation should be undertaken to determine the exact cause of any postural imbalance. Adjustment at the various levels of the spine can usually resolve LLD upto 20mm.
