Funny things said at the SIA Show

Thread Starter

Was previewing the 2013/14 Rossignol Line with a very nice, well spoken, young Rossi tech rep at the SIA Show in Denver.  When discussing the new Rossignol 7 Series skis with the "honeycomb" lightweight tip and tails, I asked him if they tore apart a bunch of old Hexcels or Hart Honeycomb skis for their raw materials.  He replied, "What is a Hexcel?" .  Jeez, do I feel old now!

Anybody have more "good ones"?

I asked if the honeycomb was being produced by "free range bees".

Twenty years ago, if you put a walk mode on your boots, it made it an intermediate gaper model.

Now it's "sidecountry".

Unfortunately, I have been in this business so long, I remember when skis were short and wide the first time.

I'll be here all week, be sure and tip your waitress!

You've been watching too many episodes of "Portlandia."
