All Mountain Recomendation

Thread Starter

Looking for some recommendations on an all mountain ski for the typical New England winters.

I'm 32 and stand about 6' and 230lbs. I consider myself a high intermediate / expert skier and am confident in skiing almost any terrain out here, short of extended bump runs or trees. I've been skiing since i was a kid, but have only been a few times each of the last several years.

Last couple skis I've been on in order have been:

  • Volkl Supersport 4-Stars and 5-Stars (2002 / 2003ish) - These were my first shaped skis and I loved both versions of these. I ended up demoing them for a couple years each time i went and was rather happy.
  • Volkl P30 RC (late 90's ?) - bought used from a friend who upgraded. Ski'd for a few years and they were adequate but always felt heavier and less maneuverable.
  • Volkl AC30 (2007ish) - Demo'd these for two days. They were nice and snappy and i generally enjoyed them.
  • Unknown Dynastar model (2011) - not sure what model, as they were a free loaner from a friend's shop but they were basically an all black ski with silver graphics. They were good for a few days, no particular feelings one way or the other.

I'm looking for something which will be a good choice for mostly cruisers and to attack steep spots here and there. Not sure what i should be looking at in terms of size or features any more....

Thoughts?

I'm particularly fond of the Blizzard Magnums. you have a choice of 2 different waist sizes, 80mm and 85mm, carbon or titanium ( flexible or stiff)

I'd recommend the 8.0.

Pfft, I'm  surprised you haven't tried ON3P Billy Goat, or Rossignol Squad 7 or Moment Bibby Pro. You should check them out. They will blow you mind
