First i would like to apologize if my written english is causing you any trouble (I'm from Denmark).
I'm looking for a new pair of skis and I could really use some help. I'm 22 years old, and I have been skiing one week every year all my life. I would say that i'm an advanced skier, but no expert though. I mainly ski on the groomed pists but occasionally I'm doing some off-pist (like 5 procent of the time). I'm not sure whether I'm going for an all mountain ski or a ski made for groomed runs. What I'm looking for is a ski that is very good for short turning. I have tried the salomon v3 race powerline and to be hornest i couldn't make short turns with it - guess my technique isn't well enough to preform short turning with a race ski.
If I'll buy a ski made for groomed pists, I will properly buy the Salomon 24 X-kart. Do you think this one, compared to the 3v, will be easier for me to handle, when I'm trying to preform short turning ? And what length should I go for 157 cm or 164 cm? (Im 5'8'' tall and my wieght is 150 lbs).
If I decide to buy an all mountain ski instead i'll properly go for the Salomon BBR 8.9. What length should i get it? 166cm or 177cm,?
Please share your thoughts on weather I should go for an all mountain ski or one designed for groomed runs, if I should be looking for other models than the two I have mentioned, and what length i should go for.
