"LEAVENWORTH, WASH. (January 30, 2013) - Stevens Pass Mountain Resort has unveiled capital plans for more than $4 million in lift and terrain improvements today. A new high-speed Doppelmayr detachable quad will replace the Jupiter fixed-grip quad chair lift in Mill Valley at Stevens Pass. In addition, the resort will add new gladed terrain in the South Park area as well as expand glading in Corona, Pegasus and Orion areas."

Don't mind the new lift at all.  I don't ride the jupiter chair that much, but I hate it when I do.  Slow lift that stops a lot.  Hopefully that will be reduced because people seem to have a little easier time getting on and off a high speed chair.  The glading I'll wait to pass judgement on until I see what they do.  One interesting thing, as someone pointed out in the facebook comments, is that this chair was not slated to be replaced in their master development plan.  Not sure what that means.

Edit: Oh, anyone know where the South Park area is?  I have no clue.

It will be nice to make the ride shorter on Jupiter.  I might ride it more.  I don't know South Park either.  I wonder if it's the trees below Aquarius face?  If they were gladed a bit more you could more easily ski all the way down to the groomers through them.
