Super wide foot, large calves, SHORT legs

Hello.  I am a re-beginner (is that a word?).  Used to ski when our kids were younger, but have not skied for about 10-12 years, so I am back at learning this all over again.

I have problem feet.  They are very wide, high instep, large calves, and my legs are very short, so the largest part of my calf is ending up in the boot and causing a lot of leg pain--bruises on my calves.

Last weekend I rented again, and they put me in rear-entry boots, which were AWESOME!  No pain anywhere, and I skied all day in them.

I know they do not make rear entry boots anymore, but can someone give me advice on what boot I might try that would be close to the comfort level I'm experiencing with the rear entry boots?

Really need help!  Thanks.

Get a local dealer to order you a pair of rear entry rentals---although they will be very poor "performance" boots.

A pair of 4 buckle boots can be modified to work around your legs and feet, perform well and be comfortable.

many specialty shops with competent boot fitting staff should be able to perform the job.

I actually ended up purchasing a pair of Full Tilt Mary Jane boots last night.

They were very expandable around my calf, and they felt incredibly comfortable, compared to the others I've tried on.

Let's hope they work.  Trying them out this weekend.
