I may have to be sick Wednesday. Wish I could call in today.

I'm seeing conflicting reports. Five inches vs 24 inches. If anyone's up there, please report!

Yep, legit smile.gif.  It was blower deep and every bit the 24" reported.  Summit depth was indeed less than mid-mtn... still great, but heavier and not as deep as the miracle that existed at mid mountain... yep, mid was holy $%#@ deep!  Sorry no pics or video as I was lapping as much as possible.

edit: and by the way, no more than 2" max on my car this morning in the valley and that fell before midnight... so very bizarre storm that happened last night.

Yeah - reporting 9" at the top and 24" at mid-mountain: who wants to ski mid-mountain anywayrolleyes.gif

I'm just going to pretend this never happened...keeps me sane..rhissyfit.gif

Well, now it has shrunk by 7" in 24 hours but only 2.5 in 48. Classic, this adjustment comes just after the resort sent out a mass e-mail proclaiming the 24" dump and posting on FB. it really looks bad.  Sorry Tam but that looks like either poor record keeping or a marketing hype. the reality may very well be the way you explained it (I still don't understand it) but to the 99% of us it just looks bad.

I'll try this one more time as maybe the 3rd time's a charm:  24" was since 5am yesterday (ie 24hr total at 5am), 17" is since 12pm yesterday.... ergo, 7" fell between 5am and 12pm yesterday.  That's seriously all there is to it.

Sounds like an awesome day in Steamboat. I looked at the snow report this morning and wished I was there. Hopefully, there will be similar snowfall in Feb. when I am actually there in body, not just spirit. Tam, glad you got to enjoy today and I do understand your explanation. Finn, sorry to hear you are in NJ!

so why don't you just label the site accordingly so there's no confusion? Seriously. So the viewer knows that the 24 hour total changes every day at 5am and then at noonish even though there's no explanation as to why?

add another 14"  41" in 3 days.......

Wow sounds like a mirror of what Snowbasin got this week. Two of my favorite SB's getting nailed!

And be happy about the extra reporting; Snowbasin only reports at 5 a.m. every day, so it can be hard to figure out whether that snow came overnight or during the day. For instance, today it says 8 inches, which sounds solid, especially considering 16 yesterday and 18 the day before, but I'm thinking most of that 8 inches was from morning-early afternoon yesterday, so it's not like it's a fresh 8. I wish they'd report a second time during the day like Steamboat.

JoeUT... if you call our snow report you can also get our "since close" snow totals, so it takes any guess work out of what fell overnight.  And I do agree Finn they should put the timestamp on the snow total... it used to be there, not sure why it isn't anymore.

Yep, another great morning.  The upper mountain was definitely pretty wind affected in open spots... but the trees and lower/mid-mountain were really nice, deep smooth stuff.  Not as light as Tuesday, but still an amazing pow day.  Snow in my driveway came up to my knees.  And it's been dumping all morning but looks like it may finally start letting up.  Might be the perfect night to lay down some tracks in my backyard.

I'm-a-comin up too (til the 10th).  A shot of who-knows-what is expected tonight thru tomorrow night and then a possible biggie is expected this weekend.  Pray to Ullr!

Even without new snow it's been skiing pretty great... Saturday was gorgeous bluebird with leftovers to be had.  Let me know if anyone wants to meet up for some turns!

no argument there!   got here and skied since the 3rd.   For my level it's been great.  This morning, the 6th, snowing lightly but all day.  Predictions had today as a possibility but then dropped it to zero, I'm sure there was 4 or so inches at least.   Anyhow, seems nice adder from prior week and while light was flat, being a groomer type, found it rather nice.
