Big Guy in need of skis!

I am new to Epicski and I have read some of the previous threads about us big guys and what skis fit best, didn't find what I was looking for.  I am 6'4" 245# advanced intermediate to expert level skier. I ski mostly on the Colorado and New Mexico resorts.  I am 50 years old and still like to go fast and make great turns.  I am not so much into the bumps anymore, but my twelve year old son is, so onward I must go sometimes.;) I have been skiing on Dynastar Outland 6 178 (87,65,101), but they seem to wear me out...I am ready for new skis, I really like a little longer ski...Used to ski Head Comps 195 and loved them.  Ski technology has really changed these days and.I would like to hear what you would suggest for an all around one ski quiver for me....thanks

Ok, so your a big guy that gets worn out by some really narrow (to me) skis.  That is likely due to lack of conditioning and not the ski wearing you out, so that is the first thing you may want to look at adjusting.  Frankly, you have a whole world of great skis out there compared to what you have been riding, so in your shoes, I would spend a week reading different reviews here (in the various forums) and on other ski websites to get a feel for what is out there.  Also, what are you looking for?  People here that have helpful advise, need to know what you want, what you like in ski equipment.  Is this primarily for piste or some off piste too?  Do more research and get back to us.  Heck, the common reply is to just go demo a bunch of skis.

I am 6'4" 250# and absolutely love my Volkl Mantras (2012).  They are worth a demo for sure!
