Correct DIN setting

I need some expert advise on the DIN setting.   I have a 6 year old daughter who fell and had a spiral fracture of her tibia last weekend.  It was on a beginner hill with magic carpet.  Her skiis crossed and she just fell farward and couldn't get up.  The skiis didn't come off the binding.   The thought of her skiis not releasing troubled me so I checked her binding and it was set at betwen 2 and 2.5 so I guess that means 2.25?  Is this too high for her weight?

She weighed 20.2 kg with the plaster cast at the hospital, so I guess she weighs little shy of 20KG.  She is 6 years old and the skiis are Atomic and Binding is Atomic.  They were purchased new a few months ago from a reputable ski shop.  Her boots are also new.  Salomon and it says 20/247 on the top.  She's skiied since she was four years old and skiied total of 10 times in her life.

I wished I knew more about checking the bindings before this accident.  I feel so guilty for not being able to prevent this accident.

Ah man,

Very sorry to hear that.  Its a real tragedy anytime a skier gets hurt like that, especially a small child.

Here is a link to a site that can calculate her DIN.  A few other parameters are needed then what you provided, but you will be able to see for yourself where she should be...hope she gets better soon.

Thanks Skidude72.  Her height is 120cm.

The site is perfect.
