Just posting in case anyone finds this thread in 'search' mode.....
We found two pair; 1996-7 Stockli FX-S(lalom) in 193cm. and Elan MBX WC GS also in 193cm.- both NOS Race Stock. Both run through the FIS radius calculator around 35-38m. FIS tends to read 'big', i.e. larger radius than simple geometry declares. "Physics' man's" calc. is more accurate.
BUT(!), found a quick shortcut/rule of thumb for skis 183-198; given a ski with measurements of 88-60-74, subtract the center figure from both the tip and tails and divide the total by 4; for example (88-60)+(74-60)=42/4=10.5
12mm total is really borderline (27-31m. on the calc's), but worth a closer look.
11mm is ideal for women, but hard to find.
10mm is pretty safe for men at 195cm., and a little wide for the girls.
Oh, and you can't trust published numbers. Both of ours were 'cheaters'- narrower across the mid section than posted!
First day on them today (Let's ski 90's style!) and she's still smiling, with much less mumbling of "$#%@$%^ FIS" than over the last few months. ;)
