Summit County Conditions

I'm going to be skiing Breck, Vail and most likely ABasin Feburary 7th thru the 11th with my Wife and have been checking out the ski reports from the websites. Problem is, I don't trust any of them so if anyone who has recently skied any of these places would like to speak up, please do.

snowing now and some hope for the next week...we are doing ok with what we have, but could certainly use more.  I have talked specifics in some other threads the past few weeks including http://www.epicski.com/t/117012/vail-breck-beaver-current-conditions-go-or-ditch-it#post_1533509

Wow, ^that struck me as odd. Can't imagine not trusting any or all of them...they must have it in for you...so why go and spend a dime with them regardless of what we say.

That said, I've been skiing over boot-top powder conditions all over summit and eagle county for well over two months now.

Thanks for that great update DD.

Looks like a couple feet of snow has fallen the past week. Anyone else care to report?

Copper was awesome yesterday morning- best conditions of the year!  They reported 7" in 24 and 15" in 72, but some areas skied much deeper.  Resolution is scheduled to open today and it should be great.

I heard Vail skied great also and they got more snow than Copper.  A-Basin is still only showing 20% of their terrain open.

It is snowing a bit now, but the rest of the week looks to be dry- conditions should remain good, but things will get skied down.  Hopefully, fewer rocks will be exposed, but I imagine there will still be a few thin areas.  The forecast is for our next storm while you are here, so hopefully that will mean some powder for you!

Thankyou very much for that report.

Looking a whole lot better than a week ago. I was going to bring my rock skis but am thinking about packing the Rockers instead.

A dump while I am there would be very nice.

Looks like you may get your wish Lars.  After a good amount of snow over the past couple days, another storm is on the horizon for the 2/6-2/7 time frame.  The mountains have been skiing much deeper than reported.  I've been skiing every day over the past week and will also be out tomorrow (Saturday) and will report back.

Breck was decent Sunday, but it was warm and the wind was blowing snow away in many areas.  Today it was beautiful with warm temps and no wind at Beaver Creek but I was disappointed with how firm the snow was and still lots of thin coverage in the moguls...

Beaver had a legit 8" fall Wednesday and skied great yesterday morning. in the pm, leftovers at Vail looked to be more than the 3 they reported. Not sure about Summit, but Breck reported 5"

Had a great trip with the Wife. Skied Breck the 8th on a Bluebird day.

Skied Beaver Creek on the 9th, awesome powder day and it snowed hard most of the day. Nice bumps on Grouse Mountain.

Skied Breck again on the 10, Sunday. Crisp groomers and a few trips up the Imperial chair but sketchy up there.

Nice view from the top
