New York Times on a roll

Following John Branch’s detailed account of the Tunnel Creek avalanche that appeared in the paper last month, The Times published a story by Bill Pennington about the Cochran family in today’s edition. I don’t know it the link will work if you’re not a subscriber, but I figure that this article will be of at least passing interest to some of the Bears.

Bazz,

Nice one.

Reminds me of my early days on a small Maine hill called Lost Valley. I can still remember watching my mittens, frozen to the goldline rope, make their way up the hill as I lay laughing in a crumpled heap in a pig pile of snow-glazed kids.

Aren't you supposed to be under water somewhere on the other side of the earth?

Doctors have long joked the New York Times may be the best medical journal.  Looks like they're going for best ski journal too.

Thanks for the link Trekchick. That is indeed the John Branch article that I was referring to. We get the Times on sundays, and I hung onto the entire special section for a few weeks. It was easier for me to peruse and examine on paper than via the web.
