Will I really like new skis better than my Mythic Riders?

Hey folks,

New to posting here. Here's me: In the powder, I snowboard. In everything else, I ski. I'm more advanced on the snowboard, but hit the double blacks on both. I've been loving how I can ski from on to off piste so easily on my MRs. Yes, they're heavy...but they're damp. I like the carve on groomers and how they blast through crud. When the conditions say, "two edges are better than one"--Mythics have done the job. But everyone around me seems to tell me that I need a little rocker here in the tip to do the job better. Whatdya think out there?

No one knows.

Seriously, there's a lot of personal preference involved in choosing skis.  Maybe you'll like the feel of something different better, maybe you won't.  You don't *need* any rocker, but you might like what it does for you.  Or, you might not.  If you currently like your mythic riders, well, there's something to be said for the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" adage.

But if you're still wondering, then the best course of action is to take a day, demo, and see what you think.

I loved my MRs.  Why don't you keep your MRs and get a rockered fat ski for powder.  Why do your friends think you need rocker?  Are your friends the kind of skiers who "really" know, or are they just on newer rockered skis and think you should be too?

I replaced my MR's at WB (still have a pair in SLC) with Kastle MX88's., Guess what - no rocker on the MX88's, and i challenge you to find anything but glowing reviews.

Rocker in many cases is flavor-of-the-day. Don't buy into the latest fad for the sake of a fad.
