But I don't hate snowboarders because they "choose to ride on one surface rather than two."
I mean, there's a lot to hate about it. Take for instance it has a blind spot around the size of half the mountain. To paraphrase your buddies in this thread: "If a boarder is going down a mountain facing left, he can't see to the right, so if you are on the right and get hit... no matter how you got there, it's your fault."
Normal people would say, "You can't see half the mountain riding it. Keep it away from people."
No, it's because of the culture of being a dirt bag they have developed around
I mean, I understand whats going on... it doesn't take much reading to see what happened.
When snowboarding started skiers didn't accept them. So snowboarders said " We hate you skiers with your rules, and etiquette, and manners, and under arm deodorant. So we are going to be completely different! We are going to be ghetto! We are going to talk ghetto! We re going to dress ghetto! we are going to act ghetto! We are rebels! We don't have to obey your stinking rules!" And as the sport has matured, that dirt bag culture solidified around it.
Hell... X-Games even has a rule for snowboarders that if you don't dress thug enough, you lose points!
To quote somebody here from another post who claims to be a snowboarder but probably just rides a snowboard
"The problem is not that on any given mountain every snowboarder you meet is likely to be an ass hole. The problem is that on any given mountain every ass hole you meet is likely to be a snowboarder."
And because of their ingrained culture, they have absolutely no way of policing themselves and fixing it. All they can do is what they are doing here, and that's whine and call people "intolerant" when called on it.
By the way, you comparing my not being willing to put up with a bunch of people that want to act like jerks because they think it's cool with actual racism and the end of slavery is one of the most hilariously offensive things I've ever read, and is a perfect example of the self centered, obnoxious snowboard culture I was talking about.
I couldn't have made that up. Thanks.
