The question was which way does it go, and Moe apparently said "screw this race crap, I'm living my days doing something that tests me differently everyday and freeskiing".
So much said about how ABC freeskier couldn't race this gnarly line, yet when it comes to real danger, suddenly it "doesn't have anything to do with comparison of ability". Pick one or the other.
I still don't get it. Both DH and free skiiing have an unfortunate share of fatalities over the years. WC has done a lot to make their events safer (netting, etc... ) that can't be done in big mountain stuff, but for anyone gearing up for a WC downhill, the possibility of severe injury or even death is very real.... just as it is for big exposed lines.
I really really don't understand why there's any argument about the abilities of both groups of athletes. They're all very very talented athletes that ski better than 99.9% of all rec skiers, and I'd dare say, 99.999999999999999% of all posters on epic.
