We should have a lift ticket deals thread.

Thread Starter

So I searched, and didn't see anything like this. I think we should have a consolidated thread with information on cheap lift tickets for all over- consolidated because a lot of people from out of state may be looking at several different states to travel.Hopefully this allows people to be able to find cheap ways to experience new places.

So, I'll start with Colorado, because its where I live and what I know.

Colorado Deals

Single Tickets:

Colorado Gems card- a $10 discount card that gets you serious discounts on lift tickets at smaller Colorado ski areas, many 2 for 1's, $40 tickets to Loveland, etc. For years, you get a FREE day at Monarch in April with the card. A great way to add more variability to your season pass skiing. http://www.coloradoski.com/colorado-gems-card

Shell Ski Free promotion: Buy some gas, get 2 for one lift tickets at ski areas in several states (California, Colorado, Michigan, Oregon) Not just for little areas either- Squaw, Copper Mountain, Winter Park are participants. http://skifreedeals.com/ski-resorts-all.html

Wolf Creek local appreciation days: Several times a year, Wolf Creek does "Local Appreciation" days where lift tickets are $35 for everybody, even people that may not happen to be local. Several Sundays are Locals Days. They also do several more "College Days," same deal, only you need to flash a College photo ID. http://www.wolfcreekski.com/wolf-creek-appreciation-days.php

Never mind that the normal ticket window lift ticket price is only $55, which is among the cheapest in the state, and far cheaper than any other 1000+ acre ski area in Colorado.

Colorado Season Pass Deals:

Most I-70 resorts:Season passes for the reasons within day ski range from Denver are among the cheapest season passes in the country. Of course the Epic Pass deserves mention here for Vail, BC, Breck, Keystone, etc. the Super pass gets you Winter Park and Copper and 6 at Steamboat, The Loveland pass gets you 3 free days at several Colorado areas (and a Silverton day), and the Arapahoe Basin pass is among the cheapest in the state.

Monarch: Called by many the best Season Pass deal ever. The pass sells for $310-$330 early season (meaning Memorial Day), and gets you tons of free days at 31 other ski areas. There are so many days at New Mexico ski areas that many folks from New Mexico purchase the pass and never make it to Monarch. In Colorado, you get 3 passes passes at Loveland, Durango, Sunlight, Ski Granby Ranch, and Ski Cooper. In NM you get passes at Angelfire, Red River, Pajarito, Sipapu, and Ski Apache. You get unlimited skiing at 5 resorts in Germany off of a $300 pass. http://skimonarch.com/index.php/ticketspasses/season-passes

Ski Cooper: Yeah, its Ski Cooper. But the pass is a mini Monarch Pass. It sells in the low $200's in the off season, and gets your three days at Sipapu, Monarch, Angel Fire, Pajarito, Red River, Ski Apache, and Sunlight. Another pass for New Mexico skiers to consider purchasing, even if they never ski Cooper! http://www.skicooper.com/2012-2013-season-passes

Michigan Deals

White Gold Card - 31 lift tickets at 31 different resorts for $199.  http://www.goskimichigan.com/michigan-ski-programs/white-gold-card

For those (like me) old enough to use it, Ski Cooper offers a seniors pass on the 6th and 20th of each month - I think it's for $27.

(Almost) Everywhere in Canada Deal:

Get a CSIA certification. Most places will give a half off lift ticket, including Whistler Blackcomb. (Plus you get a free PDP session every year, plus you're eligible for pro deals on equipment, plus you can take courses that are much cheaper than any course offered a ski school, plus...)

Whistler-Blackcomb:

Around April you can get your next year's edge card at regular rates, PLUS they give you a bonus early season day, PLUS for a pittance you can get unlimited skiing/boarding for the rest of the season (to end of May).

Hemlock:

Night skiing for $10

most hills in B.C.will give you a discount if you show a pass from another area (Whistler and Whistler passes not included it seems) Indivdual Whistler discounted tickets availible at 7/11 in Squamish (but edge card is better)  Costco and I believe Coopers (Grocery store) sell discounted lift tickets for the Okanogan. The Louise Card is similar to the Whistler Edge Card for daily discounts but also includes Revelestoke, Kicking Horse, and Castle with the 1st 4th and 7th days free.
