More fantastic press from CNN

A banner headline on the cnn.com front page teasing "Are winter sports too dangerous", followed by a series of pictures of people who have been killed or seriously injured on snow. Then an article that essentially points out that skiing isn't actually that dangerous. I wonder how many people actually got that far?

It's a pretty crappy article to be honest.

Lots of fear mongering without actually saying anything

Pandering article at best. Anything that scares off crowds works for me!

"This was drawn into sharp focus again when Claude Nobs, the 76-year-old founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival, died Thursday in a Lausanne hospital following an accident on Christmas Eve."

Nobs died after a XC skiing accident ... I guess that counts, but it isn't usually what we think of when discussing ski dangers. I don't know what happened in the accident ... he was old and hit his head, sounds like. Could have been a relatively minor event.
