Comments: This ski is like an X-Scream Series but more responsive and muscular. It is quicker than the Series, but some of that may be due to the fact that I was on a 190cm Crossmax and I ski on a 195 Series. The Crossmax edge grip is better than the Series and it works very well on hardpack to ice conditions. I skied the Crossmax at PSIA Summer Race Camp (Mt. Hood) and it performed very well. Contrary to the magazine reports, I think it has a fairly stiff tail. My skiing bud (Level 3 Cert) took it into the backcountry and felt it had too much energy for deeper snow, but he loves it in everything else. It skis the cut-up snow very well and blows through the slush. Back seat riders need not apply, this ski will punish you.
I ordered it in a 185, which is the shortest ski I have ever owned, but I feel it will be very stable based on my experience with the 190. I think aggressive X-Scream Series owners would love this ski.
It has more energy and edge grip than the Scream 10 Pilot and is a more versatile ski than the marketing suggests.

Caveat, I do some ski sales and demo work for Salomon, but I respect this forum and the Bears so this is not a sales pitch but my honest opinion.
