Nordica Soul Rider 169 or 177

I am planning on purchasing the Nordica Soul Rider in the 169 or 177.  I am 5'6'' and 190lbs.  I live in New England split my time between weekend trips up North and the annual trip to Colorado.  I am an aggressive skier. I like backcountry and steeps but also like the trees and the bumps. I want an all-mountain ski that can do it.

I demoed the 177s and really like them.  They occasionally felt just a little long in the bumps and trees.  I did not try the 169 and will not have opportunity to try before purchasing.  I am willing to sacrifice a little length to be quicker in trees, but I don't want to go too short for powder days.

I am new to EpicSki. Any thoughts on the ski length are greatly appreciated.

I am 5.9 and 170 lbs. I have 177 SR's. I would happily ski the 185's as the tip and tail rise make the 177's feel shorter. I can' imagine going shorter. My 177's are lively.

I would recommend the177s for your weight.

Yup, go with the 177s.  You'll quickly get used to the extra length.
