Blizzard Viva 7.6 : binding incompatibility with my boots

I 'm on my third season with the 7.6 vivas.  I bought them with the standard Marker binding setup. I have very small feet; ski in a Tecnica Diablo 90 junior race boot with a 260 sole.

Anyway, at my yearly binding check required by my ski area, they wouldn't pas them!  Said the bindings were only rated down to 265.  They're my favorite ski.  I've never pre-released but don't want to.

I bought them at a good shop.  Ideas?

There is still a forward pressure adjustment on the IQ binding, it WILL go down to a 260. The shop is not exploring all options. You can also trip the IQ bridge to make it maller

Thanks!  I'm glad I asked.  Will bring them back to the shop where I bought them.

The shop that has my skis is not sure what it means to trip to IQ bridge.  Can you explain further?  They said it still wouldn't work to adjust the forward pressure.  My weight is 95"/ age 50, if it matters.  Set for III.

Thanks.

Jane,

You can actually modify the bindings to accommodate the 260mm boot.   I have an On Mountain rep that skis in the 260mm boot

and I was able to make it so she had adequate forward pressure in her bindings on the 7.6.  The solid piece that joins the toe

and heel of the binding has little teeth or notches on it (they have the boot sole lengths written on them).  On the end that goes

into the heel you can sand off the last tooth or notch which lets you insert it one step farther into the heel thus making the binding

smaller and able to accommodate your boot.  Not sure if your shop will do this for you or not.  I did it on my own.
