Wasn't so much a point as a loop with pretensions to recursion.
But, more clearly, so-called 'common sense' is just as much of a social artifact as a sense of social shame.
Even more directly, saying 'it's common sense' is just a passive aggressive way of saying 'this is what my social group believes in* and we're right of course'.
*'takes for granted, assumes, holds as priority, is motivated by, intuitively understands are all included under the belief blanket here.
To me common sense is looking both ways before you cross the street, not sticking your hand in the snow blower when it's on, taking proper precautions when not on a controlled slope….
