Flights to EGE are booked..... I hear the Boat has better conditions and a storm is brewing for this coming weekend...

Drive to Steamboat or stick closer to Vail ?

Thanks

Thanks....

Can I throw Snowmass into the mix.......  Just checked their site and looks like tons of terrain open....

It depends on how this weekends storm develops...Vail has 5 K acres open (190 of 193 runs) but things are pretty firm with thin coverage in many areas.

storm due in Friday-ish.  I can tell you the boat is skiing very well. i haven't skied the resort for about a week but just spent the weekend up on Buff' pass. the snow is settled but still very light. Steamboat Powdercats is still running with plenty of untracked lines....

Thanks guys.... I have been watching Opensnow for updates ... have to lock in by Thursday and book a condo ......  Maybe by then we will see where the storm track take us ....

Steamboat does appear to be the logical destination so far......

Thanks

I don't about Steamboat. Saturday morning, about 8am the temp was -12.  That's just way too cold.

It's called an inversion. On Sunday, temp in Steamboat was -27, while it was 16 at the top of the mountain.

Ahh, I so count on folks like this!  We had some great days over the past week and a half with amazing conditions up high in beautiful 15* and blue bird skies and no one on the mountain till about 11AM.   Secondly, -12 with no wind and sun is not cold. Seriously, a couple of runs you are plenty warm.

just after Christmas on the 2 big dump days, we skied in knee to waist deep with very little traffic. As soon as the snow gets heavy and visibility drops, the mountain clears out.  I knew it was going to be a great day the 27th when I was putting on my skis and I overheard " THERE"S TOO MUCH SNOW" from a woman to her husband....

If you don't have an Epic pass, I wouldn't go to Vail.

Aspen Mt. was skiing really well, better than Snowmass last week.

Steamboat just sent out an offer for their 50th anniversary - $159 for 3 days of skiing.  Have to buy by Jan 15, and good for 3 days between Jan 21 and Feb 15th.  Sweet deal.
