Used ski recommendations

I am looking to purchase my first pair of skis. I ski one or twice a year. Spend most of my time one Blues with occasional Blacks if wide and groomed. Was hoping to pick up something used that would be a step up from rental shop gear. Any suggestions of where to start...both what and where?

I would start with a membership to www.realskiers.com   Their reviews are pretty accurate and go back a few years.

You would probably best served by a ski with a ski that has a wide range of abilities and speeds and a medium side cut radius (say about 15- m).  These properties are all given in the reviews referred to above.

Maybe go to your rental shop and see if they sell demo skis from previous seasons?

Surely you will be able to score a nice ski
