Mis-mounted binding / difference between left and right ski mounting position

I understand this topic has been discussed already in several other threads, but I did not find reference to similar problem that I have.

My problem: bought nice pair of S7 skis with Marker Baron bindings and have been enjoying them for a year now. I recently got new boots and when adjusting the binding to accommodate the different boot size, only now noticed that the other binding has been mounted 1 cm more forward than the other. The correctly mounted binding is on the factory recommended +-0 line as I requested from the store.

I am not expecting to get much compensation from the store, but am wondering if this difference is something that might affect my skiing in any noticeable way and should I consider re-mounting the other binding?

Any comments appreciated.

Don't rely on the marks on the ski, measure from the tail of the ski and see if they are off. The marks on S7's are notorious for being wrong, Rossi supplies the correct measurements to shops so the tech can measure. I'm not saying they are not mis-mounted, I'm saying check the distance from tail to binding on both skis.

Check is the distance from the tail is the same on each ski.  The marks on the ski could be off and the tech measured correctly.

If it is off and you haven't noticed any issues from skiing yet why change it.

I checked this and in my case the markings are correct. The difference is easy to see when the skis are side by side.

I am also leaning towards not changing anything. The skis are 188 cm in length so maybe this 1 cm difference is too small to notice.

Weird. I am imagining a crazy scenario where someone else also was having barons mounted on a pair of S7 188 cm at the same shop but wanted them at +1.  And they've also now been skiing a pair of discrepant mount position skis hahaha.   Naw, couldn't happen could it?

Could happen I suppose smile.gif In this case, these were the last pair and were heavily discounted which I bought them in the first place. I of course should have taken them to a real ski shop for mounting instead. If I remember correctly, I did ask if they were familiar with mouting Baron type bindings and they replied that it is not a problem with Marker provided templates.

Next time I will know better.

Contacted the store. They would like to re-mount the bindings and also provide some store credit for compensation. I think I just might accept their offer and move both bindings to -1 position since I rarely if ever ski switch.
