KMart vs. Pico on MLK weekend

Hi everyone,

I'm heading out from Boston toward Rutland for MLK day because my family lives in northern NJ and the closest mountain that they feel is worth it is Kton. I've been reading about how they're getting record crowds lately, so I was curious about how much that would bleed over into Pico. Last year MLK weekend was okay as far as crowds at Kmart, but I think that's also partly because it was like 4 degrees out, haha. Would you choose Pico over Killington on a crowded day, or is having more terrain available worth it? I've never skied at Pico so I have no idea.

As far as my preferences, I'd rather be in the trees than on steeps, but I'm interested to hear anyone's opinion! Thanks :)

I would ski Pico over Killigton on a busy weekend like MLK to avoid the mayhem.  Pico has trees to ski and two high speed quads to move you uphill.  When Pico gets busy the Outpost lift is a good chair to lap with some fun trails.  Magic and Middlebury Snowbowl are two other places to dodge the crowds on MLK.
