My boots are size 29.0 and according to everything i can find online, I should adjust the toe and heel pieces where they correspond to my boot size (290 or next mark up). But when i make these adjustments, the bindings are like 2" too short. I have to set the toe to 324 and the heel to 360 for the boot center-line to line up with the line on the binding and have the heel housing touch the heel of the boot. When the boot is popped into the binding, the forward pressure arrow on the side of the heel piece is lined up with the forward-most line (3 different lines), which i think is correct. The size indicator (similar to demo bindings) is what is baffling me. What is going on with these things? Anybody with Z12 smartrak experience? Thanks much.
Salomon Z12 Smartrak sizing weirdness
You seem to be mistaken about mondo size to corresponding boot sole mm length. My 27.5 boots have a 318mm sole length. Your 29.0 are surely much longer. Maybe 330+?
The boot sole length is typically printed right on the shell, somewhere near the bottom...
looks good. the forward pressure indicator is on the rear-most line now. I can't find the original shop practices manual for when this binding was introduced so I'm assuming as long as it is pointing to one of the three lines, it's within the forward pressure acceptable range.
