Hi Guys, I currently got a new set of 8.0 CA 172 which came with the sales demo bindings (marker power11 bindings).
The conundrum I face is there doesn't appear to be a centerline on the ski, so do I trust the markings on the binding? And where should I setup?
The only marks on the ski that I can find besides going off the graphics is the printed serial number.
On the binding, there is a plastic seam. This is visible in pictures below due to wax dust, but it is not raised or remarkable as a centerline.
On the bindings if I set the bindings evenly, (i.e. 300mm mark front, 300mm mark back).
This puts my boot centermark to the rear of the plastic seam, past the "7" in the serial number. However, this does put in the center of the half-hourglass cutout in the plastic.
To get it to match up to the plastic seam on the binding, and centered on the "14" in the serial number, this is about 15mm forward (315, 285rear)
As an extra conundrum, the marketing picture on blizzard's site shows the binding mounted slightly rear of where mine are mounted (about 1cm up, covering the top graphic).
1) where is the center binding point on the ski.
2) besides the centerline, where do you think I setup in terms of what is best on this ski (based on my boot's line)?
A) neutral on the binding (just rear of the "7")
B) center of the serial number/plastic seam (14)
C) other position. where?
D) Doesn't matter. you are overthinking. depends on your skiing, go skiing and find out
