Tecnica Inferno 130 vs Salomon X Max 130

I've been in the shop and literally tried on every boot they had. It came down to the two boots mentioned in the title. I'm 5'11" 205 pounds. I love skiing powder and also enjoy moguls, but most of the time I'm stuck either "bombing" the groomers or in the park as my "local" mountain doesn't always have the best snow. I really like a very stiff boot and had no problem flexing either of these in the store, I know that it will be slightly stiffer in the cold.

The Tecnica seemed slightly softer than the Salomon. I liked that the Salomon was stiffer it did have a very very slight pressure point on the side of my foot but I believe that would be resolved with heat moulding the boot. I previously had a pair of Salomon Falcon CS boots but they were a size too small and killed my big toes.

I am at a loss and don't know which one to go with The Tecnicas are about $100 cheaper if that plays into it at all. With what I've spent in the past on boots I'm honestly not worried about the price. What are the differences between the performance in these boots? When I spoke with a different boot fitter last year he commented on how easily I could flex the stiffest boot he had in stock and suggested looking into a plug boot? How much different would those be from the models I listed and is it something worth looking into?

Thanks for your time

wow,  great,  you have 2 great boots that fit you.   Both are similar in quality, so buy the one that fits the best (or the prettiest one)
