Hey Everyone!

Was hoping for some help on some places to stay in JH. We are 2 Aussie couples, early 30's looking for average-reasonable accom, either in town or village. We dont mind a night out but probably not every night like we used to!! Thinking of renting an SUV when we get there so we dont need to rely on shuttles. Also havent booked anything for February, is it super busy at this time of year? I know there is the Presidents weekend but not sure  about how early to book as want to see what conditions are doing?

I also heard JH has a shorter season, is Feb to late?.

And obvioulsy if anyone wants to tell me where to get the best lines are, im all ears:) But I dont expect it, especially on an open forum!

Thanks very much!!

Welcome to EpicSki!  A good place to start is the EpicSki resorts page for JH.  Click on the Tag (right of Post #1) and scroll down for related threads, reviews, and a great Unofficial Guide by a local.

Feb is not too late for JH.

My son (17) and I just stayed in Jackson for 8 nights, we got back on the 29th.  We stayed at the Lodge at Jackson Hole, which is or was a Best Western.  It is a very nice place to stay in Jackson.  I was a little apprehensive before I got there but it exceeded my expectations. I got the ski package which included the room and lift tickets.

This hotel has just been refurbished.  The exterior and interior are very well done, lot of wood and stone.  The rooms are spacious.  We had a room with two queen beds, a nice desk with outlets for all our electronics, a nice sitting area, huge dresser, a big flat panel TV....

The bathroom was clean, new tile and granite and the shower was always hot.  The staff was very, very helpful and accommodating.

They have both indoor and outdoor hot tubs - we never ventured into the outdoor one but the indoor one was plenty hot and quite welcome after a day skiing.  The sauna is nice too.  Washer and dryers onsite.

You get a full breakfast - eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, fruit, cereals, breads, etc....all included.

I know you say you are getting an SUV.  If you are going to explore beyond Jackson then maybe it's worth it but I returned mine the second day we were there.  The shuttle to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort - Teton Village, stops right outside this hotel's door.  It's the next to last stop so you don't have to sit through all the stops in Jackson on the way to or from Teton (Jackson Hole Mountain Resort).  The town shuttle also stops there too, same stop, so you can take that to various stops in Jackson.  We walked from the hotel to the Snake River Brewery, took maybe 15 minutes, so you can walk to a lot of things too depending on the weather.

The hotel also has a shuttle that will take you or pick you up any were in Jackson.  We used it a few times and never waited more than a few minutes for them to show up.

I thought this was a great place, especially for the money.  One of the best values I have had at any ski mountain in the U.S.

Good luck, and if you are planning to ski JHMR then before you go read the the Unofficial Guide to Skiing Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.  It's a well written overview of the mountain and terrain.
