Advice needed, K2 shockwave vs Volkl RTM77

A bit urgent because the sales will end on next Mondaysmile.gif

I am an intermediate skier, trying to push myself to single black diamond.

I spend most of the time in the east coast NY&NJ. I am 5'11 ( 180cm), 165 pounds.

I care more about the stability than the speed.

So between K2 shockwave 171cm and Volkl RTM77 171cm, which one should I choose? I read some reviews online. It seems K2 shockwave is very easy to control for my level. Meanwhile I see very extreme reviews about RTM, someone really likes it while someone hates it. But I guess RTM maybe better for higher level performance?

What's your guys professional views based on my conditions?

Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you

Why not demo each? The RTM will probably get more kudos for being the most stable of the two

you could do well with either.  But I'd say get the RTM, for the sake that they don't make the shockwave anymore; it's older stock 2011 or earlier.   whereas the RTM is likely a 2012 and still a current model (unless they have the same discount for you on 2013).

The RTM appears to be a little stiffer and advanced versus the k2 being softer, so the rtm is  something you can grow into as you learn to go at faster speeds.
