That's the plate holding my left tibia plateau together by way of half a dozen screws.

The tibia plateau was in three pieces after I got knocked down December 27, 2011, on hard snow.

I'm back skiing and instructing this season. Today was #41 on skis and my eleventh spent with clients. The leg is at maybe 80 percent strength. In order to expose the bone to attach the plate, they had to cut off the muscles, and they leave a lot of it unattached afterward, so those muscles have to grow back. I expect the leg to continue giving me some grief until next season.
