Hey everyone. I've never posted a Trip Report before, but I had such a fun time out there yesterday, and I was in an unusually photo friendly mood, that I figured I'd toss one up here. Ajax reported 8 inches of fresh snow overnight on Christmas Eve, and I was skeptical as I headed out to the mountain. They were not whistling dixie, there were definitely some very deep spots out there, and the conditions were just plain awesome (especially considering the season so far). A lot of it was skied out pretty quickly, but if you poked around there was oodles of fun to be had. The day started off with some light snow but by about 10:30 the clouds had moved out and it was blue skies and nice weather the rest of the way. I don't have really any photos of the goods, because I was, well, occupied with skiing them, but here are some pics that I hope capture how good the mountain was skiing.
An idea of the snow depth in some spots.
A little slice of Bell Mountain, which was in fantastic shape (both sides, with the Back being particularly nice):
Moving into more random shots around the mountain here:
Nothing to ski here (in the foreground that is), but I thought it was a cool shot nonetheless:
Lunch at Bonnie's out on the deck, which tells you how nice of a day it was.
A well deserved beer on the Sundeck towards the end of the day. Pretty nice view to chill and enjoy.
I've seen a lot of posts within the last week about how Colorado just isn't "worth it" right now, and well, there you go.
