This is my first post although I have been lurking for a number of years. I mostly ski moguls but have decided to add an SL ski to diversify and add some fun.  The SL ski will be strictly for groomers.

I picked up a pair of 2012 Atomic Ti SL skis recently that have the Atomic XTO 12 binding with Protrak, which is a binding made by Salomon.  I notice that the binding is a little less than solid on the rail and wonder if this might result in a lack of precision with an SL ski.  So I’m looking for an opinion on whether this is a good binding setup, and if not, whether anyone has pulled the Protrak plate and gone with a different binding and lifter.  If I pull it I have a new set of Salomon Equip bindings with a Drive plate that I could use.  If anyone is thinking that the old Spheric toe is not a solid platform, you are right, but I have a newer style toe.
