After 20 years heading back to Whistler! So what is new?

This Feb I am finally going back to Whistler!  When I was last there in '93, it became my best ski trip to date at that time and still remains one of my all time favorites.  I still remember skiing The Sudan Couloir (now Extreme Couloir) and buying a "I Survived the Sudan Couloir" sticker and proudly sticking it on my Soloman S9000 Equipe 2 S skis.

So what have I missed over the last 20 years?  Are there some new runs that are a "must do"?  I know about the new Peak to Peak chair, but why would you want to change mountains in the middle of the day when each offers at least a week of skiing without duplication?

I have already signed up for a 2 day clinic with Extremely Canadian so I am sure our guide will take me to some cool places.  Just want to hear from Whistler regulars about their reccomendations for an  expert skier to maximze thier trip and not miss a "must do".

Thanks in advance.

Because conditions can be different on each mountain. You may be able to escape fog, for example, by changing mountains. If you aren't happy with conditions where you are start talking to other folks, esp mountain hosts and patrol, and ask where better conditions are--they might be on the other side of the P2P. Here's a neat thread that started out as P2P bashing...until we all started using it.

You'll love the Extremely Canadian clinic. Almost a year later my husband still talks about what a great experience it was.

I didn't ski Whistler 20 years ago so I don't know what changes you'll notice, though I'm sure it will be a lot more crowded than you remember.
