We have a major powder event starting up here (just getting to Idaho) and looks like tomorrow will be a great early season powder day.  Inland PNW is about to be hammered with this significant storm.  In case any Epic Bears are looking our area is looking really good for this early in the year. All 5 local areas are supported a very good base and Thursday will be a great powder day.

It's been dumping on us continually for over a week.  Mt. Baker has a base of 165" on top.  Welcome to the club.

According to the NWS, Schweitzer is supposed to receive 11-23" between now and Friday morning.  This on top of the 39" received over the past week, on top of a base of 102" according to the SNOTEL site.  Oh, yeah!!

We've had something like 5 feet in five days and this storm is still giving.  Everyone's legs are shredded!

At Cypress Mountain in BC:

"New Snow - Mid Mtn. (7 days): 227 cm"

It's been good.

Sun Peaks normally gets 6 metres of snow in a 4.5 to 5 month season. We got one of those metres last week. Currently near a record snowfall for Dec.

DanoT,

How's the snow at Sun Peaks? We're heading there Feb 10-13. I've been reading reports / reviews of how the Sun Peaks doesn't get much snow and am now wondering if I made the wrong decision -- maybe SilverStar would have been better? :P

I just posted a SP conditions update on the PNW Condition, Stoke thread. If you are interested in 25% off demo ski rentals, then send me a PM.

Thanks DanoT. I'm a rider not a skier so the demo skiis won't do me good :(

Would love to hear of the conditions at Sun Peaks closer to 1st week of Feb! Especially when it sounds like you live there! Lucky!

I am leaving on a ski trip Jan 22 for Steven's Pass, Schweitzer, Whitewater, Red and returning to Sun peaks on Feb. 1 or 2 so I won't be able to give any on hill conditions up date for Sun Peaks until Feb. 4.
