Are my Fischer Watea 88s Too long?

Hey Everyone,

Last year I bought a pair of Fischer Watea 88s in 184cm. I'm 5'10 and range from 165-175 lbs.  I'd say I'm an advanced to expert skier: I can ski all terrain confidently and I raced GS in high school growing up in the East. Before I bought the Wateas, I was in the market for a jack-of-all-trades kind of ski. I unfortunately don't get out as often as I would like, and I was looking to purchase a ski that can perform for me on hard pack or ice in the East, as well as do moderately well in powder out West. I realize it's impossible to find a ski that does all these things well, but I thought this ski with this length might be the answer.

But I've been doing some reading and I'm concerned that I should have perhaps gone for the 176s instead. What do you guys think?

You should be fine with the 184. To put this in perspective, I skied the 2009 Watea 84 in 176 for 2 seasons. Its a soft flexing ski and the length was just right for my weight and ability. I'm 5'8 and 145 lbs. Unlike the 88's, the 84's had no early rise. I think they're similar skis so this comparison isn't far fetched. Tight trees and glades would be the only area where the 184 may feel a bit long and clunky for your weight.
