Beginner seeking first purchase advice!

Hello Community!

I'm a beginner skier spending my first season in Nelson, BC. I'm looking to find the right pair of skis at a good price and I've come across a good deal:

Nelson catches a lot of snow, so there will be plenty of powder to learn to ride as well as groomed runs - so I'm looking for an all mountain ski. These skies are rated Intemeidate / Advanced, so I'm aware they'll be less forgiving but I want something that's going to prompt my progression. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on whether this is a good choice?

Your help would be so greatly appreciated,

Thankyou! S :)

Welcome to EpicSki.  We actually need more information from you before we can make any serious recommendations, but I will say that I would not regard those skis as "all mountain" because they're too skinny.  I could ski them in powder but you will have an easier time learning to ski powder if you have a wider ski, at least 83mm in the waist.

How many times have you been skiing?

Have you had lessons from an instructor?

Do you plan to take more lessons?

What is your height and weight?

Do you own your own boots?

Do you have a budget for all the gear you need to buy?

If you answer those questions we can help.

Welcome to EpicSki Samantha!  Have you looked at the articles about buying equipment?  The most important ones are here:

Have you talked to anyone in a local ski shop about buying equipment?  Sometimes you can find a good deal locally.
