Chatter Creek Cat Skiing

Located northwest of Golden, B.C., east of Roger's Pass, guests take a 10 minute helicopter ride to get in.  We drove in over about 42 miles of forest service road to a pickup point where we rode another 20 miles or so on snowmobiles.  It is in a very remote area but with that remoteness comes the natural beauty of the area.  Sitting on the western flank of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, it reminded me of the Alps.  It is gorgeous up there!  We were able to ski above treeline nearly the entire trip with the cat taking us to over 10,000 feet.  The hand-built lodge was large, warm, and inviting with plenty of apres-ski activity and incredible food. Be advised though, try not to do the Chatter Splatter lest you look good wearing a pink purse. It seemed a couple of guys on our crew were purposely trying to win this rather dubious award.  Here is a bit of what we found when we were there:

Once again, we're getting hit with storms (21" of new at Schweitzer in the past 18 hours or so) so this is looking to be another big snow year.  So yeah, c'mon out!  We'll be hitting our first heli trip for the season in 10 days and they're getting slammed!  I'm lucky to have been born here and have this at my doorstep.

As for who I am, it depends a bit as we trade around coats and sometimes include footage from more than one year.  But in this video, I have an orange and brown jacket on the cloudy day shots and a red jacket (one of, I think, three) in the blue day shots.  Thanks for watching!

I guess since my name's shown on the video, I can tell you I'm Bill.
