Whats Going on at Silver Mt. ?

This weekend Silver groomed one run for Sat. and no runs for Sunday.  A big percentage of weekend skiers are groomer skiers - you should have heard the comments.  Looks like Jeld-Wen Doors and Windows Inc. in giving up on Silver as a ski resort.

Sure would be tragic if we lost this terrain but doesn't look good at all.

Good question..

I know they had a lot of employee turnover in the offseason. Not sure they replaced those with new hires, or shuffled people around. I'm hearing the latter.

With the pending sale, limited resources and uncertain job security, the mountain manager really doesn't have much incentive to work hard. Not surprised at all they are closed today, I think any 'iffy' days you can bet will be closed.

If this continues, hope the new owners throw a bone out to the pass holders and give us some value for renewing next year. I'm pretty confident the resort will sell.. if nothing else I could see Hagadone swooping in with a low bid.

Sure hope you're right Mike.  Forgot about deep pockets Hegadone.  He could make a heck of a package out of the Resort and Silver. That would be lst class lodging etc., with a luxury Dave smith connection shuttle service to Kellogg.  B rings up a lot of posssibilities doesn't it. Of course we don't want mega expansion etc. which I don't think will ever happen but good professional competent management would sure be a treat.

Wish I would have won the Power Ball lottery and I would have bought the joint (and roped off certain little sections for you and me).
