I recently bought a used pair of Dalbello Proton 8 ski boots and while I've only put 2 or 3 days on them I have a question about whether they may be causing me to have improper technique. My last boots were also dalbellos but significantly older and a different model. The main difference between the Protons and my old pair is that the protons seem to force my weight forward towards the front of the boot to the point where I feel sort of slouched over forwards. It could just be that these boots are getting me in the front seat where one is supposed to be (which I'm not used to apparently) or it could be that theyre pushing me too far forward. another difference is that now the front of my thighs hurt when I ski, whereas before it was the back of my thighs. Concurrently I can now only make a few turns before having to stop due to leg burn; it feels like ive never been on skis before. Is my technique improper and are the boots causing it?
PS: I love the boots, theyre nice and stiff and they allow me to ski more aggressively, but the leg pain forces me to stop way more than I had to before I got the boots.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I want to get this issue figured out as soon as possible.
