Rossi E88

Thread Starter

Hey guys, so I'm heading up to the mountain tomorrow to demo a few new skis, Im 6ft1"  175lbs, athletic and just breaking into the intermediate level of skiing.  The shop is offering the Rossignol Experience 88; however, I was intending to demo the E83...

Will the E88 be a bit much for me coming off of a 72mm underfoot? I am mostly an on-piste skier, west-coast, starting to break into the intermediate level.   Most review sites show this ski as being advanced intermediate/expert level, so Im a little worried it will be too much ski.

lemme know what yall think

Probably better to be on the 83, but it's a demo... it's only a day. It's not the width that's a problem, it's the stiffness, etc... Kind of like me driving a GP motorcycle... I could toss my leg over and ride it maybe, but certainly not do it any form of justice. Maybe an extreme example, but you get my point. smile.gif Talk to the shop. They'll find something for you.

I don't know why everyone is knocking the E83. I've got a pair of 176cm that are a great front side ski.

No apologies needed, it gets it done. Just 'cause it's narrower don't mean it's "less" ski. I use them more than my E98's simply because they work better in the more typical snow conditions we've been experiencing lately.

I think you're misinterpreting what I said. The E83's a great ski. Probably better for what the OP's looking for than the E88 is all.

Hi MarkOJP...

So, is the E83 alot (much) stiffer than the E88?  I'm in the same dilemma... trying to decide between the two.  I am also an intermediate, but erring on the side of the E88 in case of extra crud and some powder. I'm 5'9", 188 lbs.  Thanks for your opinions of one vs. the other.
