Mountain hardware maximalist questions

Thread Starter

Looking for a new jacket and saw the mountain hardware maximalist.  I ski at Squaw mostly non groomed if possble.  Tall and skinny guy.  I like the features and the poweder skirt.  Questions

-Anyone that has tried this jackets please comment

-How is the dry-Q on keeping wind out versus my old Goretex XC

-Any comments on the "different" zipper system at the neck

-Any comments on sizing.  Length ?

Not specific to maximalist, but overall about MH jackets. Size is a little bit weird. Most people size up, but there is going to be a compromise most of the time, either sleeves are going to be too long, too snug, or chest are going to be on the baggy side. I always use small but on MH I use Medium but wish I had the sleeves of a small.

Dry.q elite does pretty good on wind, some say it's a little colder than goretex but I really haven't noticed that, good breathability and total waterproofness.  Dry.q elite fabric is an amazing product.

Ive got a dryq.elite pants and cant wait to test them

Will be soon in a glacier, with possibility to -20C, hope I dont freeze, as lots of people reviewing the dryq.elite garments mention its a bit "cool"

MH fits a bit more boxy than something like Arcteryx, keep that in mind.
