I just booked a flight to Calgary, I couldn't resist it at only 25K of United miles(+$60). I'll be skiing three days Sat through Monday - leaving from Newark. I arrive in Calgary at 11am and was thinking of driving to Revelstoke, that's 5 hrs right? But if there is a storm I hear it could be much longer?? So I am thinking of Revelstoke, then backtracking to Kicking Horse to ski on Sunday, then on Lake Louise the last day on Monday then back to airport Monday night. But since the flight arrives at 11am I thought I might enjoy even the 5 hr drive since it will be in the daylight.
Is this a crazy plan? I figure this is my shot to ski Revelstoke, but maybe I could swing around and do another resort that's an easier drive, and still do KH & LL? I know I want to ski a different resort each day though.
Do I have to worry at all about booking a hotel in advance, the trip starts March 1st? I'd rather wait and see what the weather is like and if it's bad, plan resort selection accordingly. But for sure I want to ski KH, I know I want the tee-shirt!
