Problems with "1 PM/day limit"

Does anyone know why this crops up on my account from time to time?  I get a message saying I have reached my 1 PM per day limit.

No, can you forward the latest PM so we have something to go on?

I wish I could, but I am restricted to 1 PM/day, so I can't do anything.  Here is the quoted message I am getting:

You have reached your daily allotment of 1 private message per day. Note that multiple recipients of the same message each count toward your limit. Please try again later.

I just got it too.

It is a fault in the Insider permissions.  I fixed it once, and I'll try again.

Please check  your PMs...the old limit got restored with the Huddler update.

Thanks, it is fixed!

ON that note, I can't use the thumbs up feature.

It says that I've used my daily allotment which I haven't even used yet today.

The Man is trying to get you to tone down that enthusiastic niceness problem. smile.gif You're on strict allocation. Frown icon is still unrestricted, however.

Your excessive supportiveness has annoyed the system.

The antidote ... instead of 'thumbs up', use a different finger.

Problem solved.  Nothing like flipping the bird to fix a problem.

Sorry to raise a dead thread, I can start a new one if required...

But I'm having the same issue only mine is saying 2 PM per day limit reached, and interestingly, that was yesterday.

I tried to look around to see if there was some reason for this, but was unable to find one.

Any Ideas?

Now that you posted, your limit is at least doubled.  Do it again.  Your PM limits increase significantly when you post.

Oh! That makes a lot of sense, being part of a forum; I've been a lurker for a few years now and finally joined up, but have been too shy to post anything (I know, terrible excuse).

Guess its time to make an intro post :)

Thanks.

Well Trekchick and a few others of us got over being shy a long time ago.  PMs are limited to members who lurk, because we really don't want the private messaging system to be used by spammers to reach a lot of members.  Sadly, we have to do that as it is a common practice.

As you use the site to post and review, you will get increasing privleges.  Welcome, and nice to see you out in the light.

Thanks guys!

Totally understandable out the spammer prevention.

Really looking forward to getting to know the community! smile.gif

I just joined and also reached my 2 PM/day limit which made it hard to conclude a purchase on the gear swap.  So now that I'm posting again, will I get an increase in my PMs?

You should see a significant difference already, and welcome to Epicski.  It's amazing that we actually have thousands of viewers for everyone who actively posts here.  Sometimes just making that first post leads to becoming much more a part of this community.

I was lurking around for an answer to my PM limit and found this thread. Not much to contribute, but I now understand the limits and why they exist. I will try and post more!

Congrats, you should have more PM power now.
