Bindings Mounted too far Back?

Thread Starter

I recently noticed that my bindings on my 06 Fischer RC4 SL skis are mounted considerable farther back than other skis of similar lengths.  Unlike my other skis there are no markings anywhere on the skis to indicate where the ski boots should be centered.  I bought the skis used, and the bindings from the previous owner were only a half size bigger than my boots so I moved the heal piece slightly forward.  I have skied on them for the last four seasons and I was wondering if the bindings have been mounted improperly all this time.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

they don't look far away.  the center line marking on the fischers is normally just to the rear of the front plate.  It does get wiped off easily so I use the rear of the front plate as a proxy.  i have also tried moving them further forward and it does not work well on that slalom ski, unlike the gs
