Here in upstate NY the weather pattern is shaping up to look like a repeat of last years' disasterous winter. Local ski area - Greek Peak - opened this past weekend with a WROD, only to close again with the temps hitting 65 degrees on Tuesday. They restarted snowmaking last night, but with the 10 day forecast of highs in the 40's and 50's and lows in the 30's they are probably just wasting their energy.
So far it's actually shaping up worse than last year's repeated cold / warm cycle that allowed them to make enough snow to get most trails skiable.
There's not a storm anywhere in the forecast for our area.
After last season I asked my wife if we could move if we have another season like that -- she said yes. I don't think she meant it. I'm going to miss her.
